3Dlabs Oxygen GVX210

The newest member of the 3Dlabs Oxygen family of workstation graphics accelerators is the Oxygen GVX210. By combining two 3Dlabs GLINT R3 rasterization engines with the new-generation 5,000Mflop GLINT Gamma G2 geometry processor on a single slot AGP card, the Oxygen GVX210 delivers balanced high-end performance for both OpenGL and Direct3D applications.

With a high-speed 256-bit memory bus, 64MB of on-board memory and 256MB of Virtual Textures, the GVX210 boosts the interactivity of the very largest models and scenes. The card complements the entry-level Oxygen VX1 and mid-range Oxygen GVX1 workstation accelerators and is expected to commence shipments in the fourth quarter of 1999 at an MSRP of $1,999.

The Oxygen GVX210 is expected to deliver a fill-rate of 460M dual bilinear mip-mapped texels/sec and over 6.3M lit, transformed polygons/sec geometry throughput. It will ship with 3Dlabs' new-generation Pentium III-optimized, multi-threaded PowerThreads SSE OpenGL drivers that dynamically distribute the geometry and lighting load between the on-board geometry processor and the host CPUs for optimal system throughput.

The card can drive two displays up to 2046x1536 at true-color resolution from a single board and will also support high-resolution stereo displays. Additionally, the Oxygen GVX210 display expansion option adds two DVI flat panel connectors.
