Microprocessor Forum LogoSUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 14 -- More than 20 first public disclosures of new microprocessor chips and six full-day seminars by the MicroDesign Resources team of analysts Steve Leibson, Peter Glaskowsky, and Tom Halfhill, will be among the highlights of this year's Microprocessor Forum held October 9 through 13 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California.

Featured speakers at the five-day event will include industry experts Michael Slater, Robert Morris, Linley Gwennap, Bob Wheeler, and Jeff Bier.

Two days of new product and technology sessions will include disclosures of new chips and microarchitectures for PCs, networks, information appliances, workstations, and servers. Presenting companies will include AMD, ARC Cores, ARM Ltd., Centaur Technology, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi, IBM, Improv Systems, Intel, LSI Logic, Micron Technology, Motorola, picoTurbo, Samsung, SiByte, STMicroelectronics, Toshiba, Vulcan ASIC Ltd., Xstream Logic, and ZF Linux Devices.

Technology seminars to be held over three days will include full-day presentations by Microprocessor Report editor in chief Steve Leibson on information appliances and by industry experts Linley Gwennap and Bob Wheeler on network processors.

Microprocessor Report analyst Tom Halfhill will present an all-day seminar on high-performance embedded processors, and Peter N. Glaskowsky will lead one on extreme processors for multimedia.

Jeff Bier and other members of Berkeley Design Technology's team of DSP experts will present full-day seminars on architectures and trends in processors for DSP and on digital audio applications, algorithms, and implementations.

Microprocessor Forum seminars and technical sessions are designed to serve the needs of system architects and design engineers, members and managers of chip-design teams, engineering management and CTOs, financial analysts, and anyone who is designing with, evaluating or making business decisions on the basis of microprocessor chip, core, and DSP technologies.
