ITASCA,
Ill., Aug. 24 -- NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America, Inc.
today announced the NEC MultiSync LCD2110, the largest viewable flat
panel desktop monitor currently available in the commercial market.
With a 21.3-inch viewable image area and native 1600 x 1200 UXGA resolution,
the NEC MultiSync LCD2110 is ideal for professionals that are looking
to increase productivity by displaying more information.
"The addition of the NEC MultiSync LCD2110 further demonstrates NEC-
Mitsubishi's leadership position in the worldwide desktop monitor market
as a new joint venture company and supports our company's commitment
to providing the most advanced LCD desktop display solutions," said
Chris Connery, product line manager, NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics
Display of America. "As the world's largest supplier of branded LCD
monitors, NEC's MultiSync line has earned a great reputation for its
high quality, premium desktop display products at a competitive price."
The introduction of the NEC MultiSync LCD2110 also sets a new standard
as the world's largest Pivot Enabled display.
Measuring just 4.0 inches deep and weighing 23.1 pounds, the NEC MultiSync
LCD2110 is designed for businesses that want to increase productivity
by displaying more information with a larger viewable image area. With
an estimated street price of $7,999, the NEC MultiSync LCD2110 delivers
all the benefits of flat panel monitors including saving space and minimizing
power consumption and heat output.
The NEC MultiSync LCD2110 features a true 4:3 aspect ratio with a UXGA
1600 x 1200 standard screen resolution, and is supported by the majority
of video cards on the market. Other manufacturers offer monitors with
unconventional aspect ratios such as 16:10 or 16:9, which limit the
monitors to a rectangular viewing area. The NEC MultiSync LCD2110's
4:3 aspect ratio is closer to a square shape, which monitor users are
more accustomed to. The square shape also increases the overall amount
of information displayable on the screen. The 21.3-inch diagonal viewable
image area coupled with this 4:3 aspect ratio make the NEC MultiSync
LCD2110 the largest viewable LCD monitor on the market.
The NEC MultiSync LCD2110 is also equipped with NEC's XtraView Wide
Viewing Angle Technology, which allows multiple users to view images
in either portrait or landscape orientation without having to sit directly
in front of the display. Users have an ultra-wide viewing angle of 170
degrees both left to right and up and down, 85 degrees from the center
of the monitor. The XtraView Technology corrects color changes and image
distortions that are detected when viewing a monitor with standard LCD
technology. XtraView technology improves the monitor image by passing
light through the liquid crystals of the LCD monitor at a horizontal
orientation, thus dispersing the light more efficiently than conventional
LCD technology.
Additional Innovations
Innovations that add to the distinction of the NEC MultiSync LCD2110
include:
-- OSM on-screen controls allow users to quickly and easily refine their
screen image for perfect centering, and adjust brightness and contrast
in either portrait or landscape mode.
-- Low power consumption and reduced emissions translate into lower
electric and cooling needs, equaling overall cost savings. All NEC MultiSync
LCD series monitors exceed Energy Star and NUTEK requirements for reduced
power consumption, making them a perfect choice for sensitive environments,
such as medical settings.
-- Flexible mounting choices are available with the NEC MultiSync LCD
series for both portrait and landscape modes. Mounting holes exist on
all four sides of the NEC MultiSync LCD series, enabling users to attach
third-party devices such as speakers, video cameras or microphones as
they become available. The cable management feature enables the monitors
to be mounted flush against a wall or on an articulating arm. The monitors
follow the VESA industry standard for arm or wall mounting.
-- The light weight and slender footprint of NEC's MultiSync LCD2110
makes it ideal for tight spaces, such as trading floors, or any other
setting in which space is a limited but valued resource.
"The NEC MultiSync LCD2110 is in a class of its own in terms of its
superior image quality, complete flexibility and innovative features,"
said Todd Fender, product manager, NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics
Display of America. "We are excited to introduce a flat panel monitor
with the most sophisticated technology available. With higher resolutions
and the largest viewable surface available, the new NEC MultiSync LCD2110
allows companies to increase productivity while its compact design frees
up valuable desktop space."
